Ranks
Commander ✩✩✩✩✩ – The highest rank available, you are completely in charge of one of the three legions; Scouting, Garrison or Military Police. You are responsible for all the lives of your legion and under constant scrutiny from the general public. You can create mission threads for your legion and have completely creative control over their locations, success rates etc. Commanders are also given the power to demote or replace their respective corporals and captains (Please refer to FAQ for more information). For dramatic purposes the roleplayer may choose to have their character forfeit their position due to stress, high death tolls, severe injury (i.e. loss of limb) or low success rates. NOTE. There is only one commander position available per legion to be applied for. Erwin Smith is the default commander for the Scouting Legion unless specified differently by the roleplayer. Positions are based on first come first serve.Squad Leader/Corporal✩✩✩✩– A step below commander, you are in charge of your own personal squad within your respective legion and report directly to your corresponding commander. You are allowed to hand pick your own squad and deliberate with your commander on missions. Corporals are usually the strongest members of their legion with the exception of the commander. For dramatic purposes the roleplayer may choose to have their character forfeit their position due to stress, high death tolls, severe injury (i.e. loss of limb) or low success rates. NOTE. There are only two corporal positions available for each legion to be applied for. Canon corporals such as Levi do not affect this number. This means the two corporal positions in the Scouting Legion are still open despite Levi being a default corporal in the Scouting Legion. Positions are based on first come first serve.Captain ✩✩✩ – Captains are responsible for the cadets within their legion and report to their corresponding corporals. Cadets rely on their captains for leadership, advice and support. They are the confidants for their cadets and one of their primary functions is to insure their sanity, health and confidence. Captains are usually very approachable and sensitive to the needs of their underlings. NOTE. There are only three captain positions available for each legion to be applied for. Positions are based on first come first serve. Canon captains such as Hanji to not affect this number. This means the three captain positions in the Scouting Legion are still open despite Hanji being a default captain in the Scouting Legion.Cadets (Default Position)✩✩ – Cadets make up the largest portion of each legion and mathematically suffer the largest causalities. They report directly to one of their corresponding captains. (NOTE. Titan shifters will not be allowed in a position of authority due to mistrust. This is subject to change.)

Legions
The Scouting Legion, also known as Survey Corps or Recon Corps, is the driving force of the plot and story as it is the branch of the Military most actively involved in Titan combat and human expansion. Despite having little to no success, they still symbolize "the hope of mankind", hoping that someday, their victory will change the world known to humanity, recovering what has been lost. Their commander is Erwin Smith.
Duty: This division of the military is in charge of the exploration and the eventual reclamation of human territory from Titan-infested land. Prior to the breach of Wall Maria, they explored the land outside of the Wall, though never getting far due to the heavy casualties suffered by Titans.
Presently, they have been laying down supplies from the Wall Rose Trost District to Wall Maria Shiganshina District in preparation to seal the breach and reclaim Wall Maria.
A more recent unofficial duty has been Titan observation and research. Given the safer nature of exploring within Wall territory (since Titans can only enter Wall at one point), a wealth of information has been revealed such as their tolerance of pain, sunlight dependence, and intelligence.
Qualities: Since the Scouting Legion is constantly on the front line, fighting Titans, its high fatality, low success rate (if at all) discourages most people from enrolling into the legion, as seen when only less than 10% of the 104th Training Squad joins them. Thus, the legion suffers an all-time personnel shortage and the only soldiers who enter the Scouting Legion are dedicated to the cause of humanity usually at the cost of their own lives.
While most soldiers do not survive their first expedition, each successive expedition exponentially increases their chances of survival. This fact makes the veterans some of the most experienced soldiers in the entire military.
Aside from personnel shortage, disciplines of the soldiers are the best out of the three military branches.
Unfortunately, this branch is also the most pressed one because despite being the best out of the three military branches in terms of soldiers' and officers' quality, the bureaucrats, rich conservatives and many Military Police members dislike the Scouting Legion and view it as a waste of money and resources due to the Legion's lack of definite, decisive successes and high losses of lives. Only from the 'support' of the king does the Legion still remain intact and protected from the greedy bureaucrats and hostile conservatives.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Military Police is the most prestigious due to their work allowing them to live within the Inner Wall. However, it is also the most corrupted military sector due to a lack of oversight compared to the other sectors of the military. Only the top ten alumni from trainee squads can apply for the Military Police.
Duty: The Military Police is the police force within human territory. Not only do they maintain order, they serve as the king's guard. Since they do not normally come in contact with Titans, they must have special permission to use 3D gear and usually carry firearms instead. They are also in charge of tax collection and land distribution.
Qualities: The Military Police is supposed to be an elite unit made of the most skilled soldiers due to its rigorous standards. The reality though, is a lazy, corrupt system that benefits from the powers granted to it. Though they are top ten graduates from the trainee squads; they are inexperienced since they only stay in the safety of Wall Sina and never engaged in battle with the Titans before.
Most senior officers spend all their time gambling and drinking while leaving recruits to do all the work. They also pilfer taxes and misappropriate land. This corruption is well-known with many people criticizing their lack of care for anyone other than themselves. Refugees and forced laborers (called producers) hold simmering hostility against them.
However, many trainees still dream of joining the Military Police because it will allow them to live within Wall Sina and safety. Also, being so close to the center of human territory, most policemen have relatively little experience fighting Titans as compared to the Scouting Legion or the Stationary Guard. This, together with corruption, loose discipline, contempt from public, makes this military branch the most incompetent out of the three.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Stationary Guard, also known as the Garrison, is the largest of the Military divisions which protects and maintains order near the Walls. Given the fatality rate of the Scouting Legion and the limited entry of the Military Police, most soldiers join the Stationary Guard. As they often have close contact with both Titans and human civilians, they are proficient over a wide variety of tasks such as Titan combat (defensive battles), cannonading, security detail, crowd control, and rifle usage.
Duty:The Stationary Guard takes care of all defenses for the Wall whether it be patrols, repairs, or improvements. As such, they spend most of their time preparing for attacks against the Wall. The Stationary Guard mans the cannons on the Wall that are often used for long-range Titan defense. They must also deal with civilian evacuation and have emergency plans for dealing with scenarios for when the Wall is breached.Qualities: Being the main fighting force of the 3DMG soldiers, the men and women of the Stationary Guard come from all backgrounds and views. Most are simply afraid of dying or unwilling to give their lives for what they believe to be foolish causes. The great deal of diversity also gives great talent to the Stationary Guard: imaginative and magnetic men like Dot Pixis are present and successfully motivate their subordinates to do their duty. Before the fall of Wall Maria due to Titan raid, the quality of the troops were lax, lazy, undisciplined, and unreliable; only slightly better than the Military Police. All that changed after Wall Maria fell. Since then, the Stationary Guard has become innovative, tactical/strategic, diligent, disciplined, competent and purposeful. This branch is currently the second most reliable military branch along with the Scouting Legion.( Source)

The WallsThe Walls were built more than a century ago, when humanity started to become extinct at the hand of the Titans. In response to this looming threat, the humans made huge walls to protect their last stronghold. The walls reach about 50 meters in height. The tops of the walls are lined with cannons, which can fire on approaching Titans.
The walls are too long to be guarded in their entirety. To account for this, each one has four towns on their periphery. As Titans are drawn towards large concentrations of people, humanity can focus its defenses at these towns.
!SPOILER WARNING! The interior of the walls seem to contain numerous dormant Titans. However no details have been given, it has been suggested that the walls were originally created by Titans using their hardening ability.
Two of the few people who know about the Titans in the walls are Pastor Nick and Historia Renz. Pastor Nick is a foremost member of a cult which considers the walls to be holy. Historia was a formerly high-born lady and presumably knows about the walls because of that.Divisions
Wall Maria is the outermost wall of the human kingdom. Like the other walls, Wall Maria is approximately 50 meters in height. Five years ago, it was breached by the Colossal Titan after about 100 years of peace and prosperity.
Wall Rose is the second outermost wall following Wall Maria. It has been breached by the Colossal Titan after five years of the Wall Maria being breached, but has been covered by a boulder with the help of Eren Jaeger.
Wall Sina is the innermost wall protecting the kingdom where the king and other civilians reside. The city inside Wall Sina is protected by the Military Police serving under the king.

Titans➾AppearanceTitans greatly resemble human beings in that they are bipedal creatures with the same number and arrangement of limbs and features one would expect in human beings. They are all deformed by human standards to a greater or lesser degree, ranging from minor abnormalities in proportions (enlarged head, small limbs etc.) to apparently lacking skin and subcutaneous tissues. Titans almost universally possess widened mouths with an enormous number of small, square teeth. They apparently lack canines, although possibly not incisors, and use these in their primary activity – eating humans. They apparently do not possess a complete or functioning digestive tract, merely a stomach-like cavity that eventually fills up with what they swallow, forcing them to regurgitate in time to continue eating more humans they encounter.
➾Behavior Titans are compelled to seek out and devour humans for reasons unknown, as they do not derive any real sustenance from them-they did not taste human flesh for nearly a century after the walls went up, but this did not affect their activity or numbers. It should be noted, as mentioned above, that Titans eat humans for no other apparent purpose than killing them. They ignore all other animals and forms of life.
Most Titans are not very intelligent and many are little more than mindless beasts, easy to trick, distract or deceive. Intelligence does vary, however, between regular Titans and Titan shifters.
➾Types of Titans
3-6 Meter Class: Smaller Titans that display no level of intelligence. (Notable Titan from this Class: Sawney)
7 Meter Class: This type of Titans have very large heads with a semi-quadrupedal, ape-like stance. Arguably the most common Titan class. (Notable Titans of this Class: Bean)
8-14 Meter Class : These Titans resemble humans the most. They seem to be more energetic and more fit than other titans. (Notable Titans of this Class: Smiling Titan)
15 Meter Class: Among the largest of the Titans, these Titans have more proportional bodies but with also grossly enlarged mouth.`
Titan Shifters: Titan Shifters are humans capable of transforming into Titans who have various unusual traits and skills that can be honed and directed with purpose. These Titans are usually stronger and/or faster than typical ones and retain their intelligence during a controlled transformation. They generally don't have any deformations that hinder their skills, and often resemble their human "pilot. (Notable Titans of this Class: Rogue Titan, Dancing Titan, Colossal Titan, Armored Titan, Female Titan)

Professions
Don't want to join a legion? That's ok!Realistically, not everyone isn't cut out for the military. Other professions are welcome and encouraged. Here are a few relevant examples.
Three-Dimensional Manuever Gear Specialist: Your sole job is engineering the very weapons soldiers utilize day in and day out to fight Titans. Your priority is to fix, repair, and even make manuever gear from scratch!
Doctors/Medics: Soldiers suffer injuries on the battefield day in and day out, and they need proper tending to their wounds and sicknesses.
Religious Figures or Priests: There are people that believe the Walls are gifts sent from Gods, or that Maria, Rose, and Sina are goddesses themselves.
Cadet Trainers/Teachers: Although not everyone is cut out for fighting, there are writers and scholars that can assist in training the new Cadets intellectually with vast Titan knowledge and Military Weaponry
*NOTE. Choices are not limited to these examples. If you can think of a relevant profession for your character feel free to include it in your application.
