その日人類は思い出したXXXヤツらに支配されていた恐怖をXXX鳥籠の中に囚われていた屈辱を On that day, mankind received a grim reminder... Eren Jäger Age: 15 Gender: Male Ethnicity: German ancestry Rank: Cadet in the Scouting Legion Birthday: March 30th Physical Appearance: (Eren currently stands at 170 cm (approximately 5’7’’). His dark hair is inherited from his mother and father, along with his slender build and olive undertones. From his dad specifically he received relatively thin brows which are often drawn together in a way that makes him appear constantly angry, even when he’s just deciding on which shirt to wear (which never seems to change). His eyes, however, are more like his grandmother’s, and change from day to day and in certain lights, ranging from a deep blue to almost green. Distinguishing Features: (His eyes are certainly one of his more attractive features and are significant because they are so expressive. Framed by dark brows; Eren never really needs to tell people when he’s angry or upset because his eyes will narrow or widen or crinkle in a way that will always betray his true emotions. In all earnest, his eyes make him an open book. Personality: Eren is brash and impulsive. There can be no doubt that he means well and his intentions are always to better mankind, although often no one benefits from his recklessness. When allowed to, or even when not allowed to, Eren speaks his mind which can be a dangerous or an endearing quality, and occasionally both. He is moral to a fault, and has very clear ideas of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ which he vocalises to any who challenge his values. Because of this he occasionally wrestles with his orders when they contradict his ethics, and while he always tries to do the right thing he has caused a number of problems already by taking the wrong action. Besides his stubborn personality and inability to filter his thoughts from his mouth, Eren struggles to follow orders largely because of his lack of patience. This causes problems for himself, but more often for the people around him who have been tasked with protecting and watching him. The most common word used to describe Eren by the military is ‘determined’, and it’s true. He has previously been called a ‘monster’, though not in a literal sense, instead because his will is unbreakable. When he sets his mind on something he will actively attempt to achieve his goals. Because of this determination he does work very hard to be better than he is whether it’s in his education or strength and agility. He can work until he burns himself out entirely, and is not entirely sure where his limits lie, something that he is called up on but does not actively try to find. If he knows his limits he’s afraid he might stop at them. He’s not a huge fan of intimacy. Eren has a personal bubble and he wants people to respect that. There are exceptions as to who may enter this ‘bubble’, but as a general rule he doesn’t like physical contact when it’s not training or the likes. In saying that, he won’t shy away when someone gets in his face, but he finds it immensely irritating. Eren’s unwavering drive to join the Scouting Legion is what drove him to open his mind during his training years. He began to understand that he had to be willing to learn new skills that he thought were not entirely conventional when fighting Titans. Even now, he is still constantly making an effort to better himself in any way he can. It’s probably his greatest strength. He is emotional which contributes to his occasionally irrational behaviour. Eren isn’t afraid to lash out if he thinks it necessary, but he also doesn’t hide his tears from those he trusts. He doesn’t see it as a weakness when no one questions his almost foolish bravery. No one can call him a coward, because he’s the furthest thing from one, and wearing his emotions on his sleeve, and his ever expressive face, is just one of the ways that he exhibits this strange bravery. Ever since he was young, Eren has found it difficult to make friends, but the few he does have he takes care of. Loyalty is one of his strengths as a friend, and while his honesty has driven a number of people away he believes it is the most important thing in any relationship. That’s what his dad always told him, anyway…. At times he suffers from intense jealousy which he struggles to control. He tries to be quiet about it, but occasionally he will make unsubtle remarks, often directed at Mikasa or Levi. He doesn’t want to be replaced, though if he put as much thought into his relationships as he does about killing titans he might be less self-conscious about it. His temper is explosive and he has very little control over it. When angry it is very difficult for him to calm down, and it usually takes time for his friends to learn the words and gestures to get him to compose himself. Logic is usually the best course long term, but also difficult since Eren can be stubborn and doesn’t like to change his opinion. At the core Eren is a good person and means well, but he is riddled with dangerous flaws and power that he lacks the ability to control still. History: Eren came from a relatively normal family; the son of a doctor and kindly mother. Much to his father’s dismay, he always struggled to make and maintain friends and, for some time, Armin was the only person besides his parents he could admit to actually liking. His antisocial behaviour has never entirely faded. Violence is second nature to him and has been since childhood. While still young, Eren saved his friend Mikasa from human traffickers by stabbing two of the men after the discovery of her parents’ murder. Giving her his scarf, Eren proclaimed that she was then a part of his family and since that time Mikasa had been like a sister to him in his household, despite him often claiming otherwise. In the year 845 Wall Maria and his home town were invaded by Titans after the Colossal Titan appeared and broke the wall. Eren’s father had left for wall Sina earlier that day, but his mother had not been so lucky to escape her fate. Eren and Mikasa arrived to find his mother buried beneath rubble and were unable to free her from the debris. They were carried off by the Stationary Guard, Hannes, and Eren was forced to witness his mother being eaten alive by an aberrant Titan, unable to save her. That was the single most defining moment in his life; that was when he decided that he was going to exterminate the Titan race, even if he had to do it alone. After escaping Wall Maria into the inner wall, Rose, Eren, Mikasa and Armin were forced to work on a farm so that they could afford food and shelter. At the age of eleven he enrolled into the Military with his friends where he trained for four years. Here he was able to make new friends who he shared interests with and admired his willpower more than they scoffed at it. After an initial rough start and incident with a broken harness, he graduated fifth in his class for his agility, strength and intelligence. This meant he was given special permission to enter the Military Police, though Eren had his eye on the Scouting Legion. However, the graduation ceremony was not given a chance to commence as the Colossal Titan appeared at the edge of Wall Rose. Eren bravely attempted to kill the Titan before it could cause damage but after breaking the gate open, it vanished in an explosion of steam. The Military was quick to respond and sent the new recruits in squads to control the crisis and defend the city. Eren was designated teammates, but after witnessing a number of their deaths he irrationally attempted to kill an abnormal, which, in turn, bit off his leg. After regaining consciousness, Eren was able to rush to the rescue of Armin, his childhood friend, taking his place in the mouth and belly of a Titan. The rest of his group died during that time and Eren found himself in a pool of blood and limbs swearing that he would exterminate every last Titan. Unable to accept his own defeat, Eren’s determination to exterminate the Titan race drove him into his first shift into a Titan himself. He unknowingly saved his friend, Mikasa, by attacking the Titans who had her cornered. His power gave him strength and abilities above those of the average or aberrant, and Eren was able to kill a number of Titans as well as save many cadets who had been trapped in HQ. After the massacre Eren collapsed and he pulled himself from the neck of the titan with new limbs intact to replace the ones he lost. Unfortunately there were a number of witnesses to this site and Eren was cornered by the military who attempted to kill him and his associates. He triggered a half transformation by biting his hand, having recently learnt that doing so was the only way he could become a Titan. Commander Dot Pixis intervened and asked Eren to attempt to control his abilities so that he might move a boulder to reseal Wall Rose. His transformation was easy enough, however upon sighting Mikasa, Eren’s Titan instincts kicked in and he tried to kill her. Armin was able to speak to Eren and he was eventually able move the stone and block the hole. However, despite the success of the mission, this was a significant milestone for him as he realised then just how little control he held over his power. The three were saved by Captain Levi and Eren awoke in a prison cell where he was informed that he would be escorted by members of the Scouting Legion to the court room and tried. An outburst from the teen almost led to his execution, however, Levi physically demonstrated his abilities to control and defeat Eren if need be and he was handed over to the Scouting Legion. It was then that Eren was able to take his vows and promise his life to the Scouting Legion where he currently resides. Likes: -His friends. -The Scouting Legion who he has the greatest respect for. -Knowing that he is doing the right thing. He likes affirmation that what he is doing is for the best and if he is to be used that it is for a good cause. -The adrenaline rush that comes during battles with Titans because it drives him to do his best. -Card games, though he's got a terrible poker face. -Horses -Meat -The colour red - Dislikes: -Titans!!! -The Military Police because it’s a well-known fact that they are corrupt and, well, want him dead. -Being told what to do. -Cowardice, specifically those who waste their talent with no desire to help mankind. -Having his beliefs challenged. He likes to think that he’s right about everything and controversial issues are either black or white. Grey is just not a thing. He likes to think he always picks the white side. Strengths: -Determination has been noted as one of his greatest strengths, and it’s probably true that no one in the cadets has as much drive as Eren does exterminate the Titan race. -He’s a Titan shifter which plays mostly to his strengths despite causing problems for him at times and alienating him from most of humanity. -Kind hearted, almost to the point of a hero complex. He will impulsively rush to the aid of his friends and fellow cadets often at his own expense. -General strengths, ranked 5th in his group. Eren’s intelligence is above average and his skill level is better than most purely because of his obsession with self improvement. He is far from the best but he is not an easy opponent. Weaknesses: -Stubborn to the point where from time to time he will refuse orders despite the dangerous consequences. This gets him into trouble which he cannot afford to be in when the Military Police are desperate to see him screw up. -His temper which without question has resulted in some of the worst penalties he’s received. His temper is what causes his impulsive behaviour and gives many cause to fear that he will shift. -Impulsive and reckless, though these are not always because of his violent nature they generally lead to awful situations for him and his mates. -Violence, and this is not always simply directed towards Titans. Fears: -Death, though not in a conventional sense. He is more afraid to die before he has destroyed every Titan in existence, but that does not take away from the fact that he is currently afraid to die. -Losing control while in his Titan form and killing the people he cares about. -Mild claustrophobia. He is used to open spaces, and that is what originally played a part in his drive to see the outside world. As a child, sometimes he even had nightmares about the walls which suffocate him by closing or collapsing in. Now he is very good at blocking out that fear but finds himself much more comfortable outside than in a small room. This also is a subconscious defence mindset that is the result of Titan shifting. Quirks: -He bites his nails, to the dismay of everyone around him. Just think about that for a second…. -He talks to himself when he thinks so no one is looking. -He has a diary which he writes in actively. Skillset: (On a Scale of 1 to 10: 10 being the highest) Physical Strength: 6 Intelligence: 5 Teamwork: 3 Confidence: 9 Agility: 6 Roleplay Sample: It would have been a lie to say that Eren was excited to attend the ball, and Eren was a very honest person. The event was compulsorily and for some reason the fact that he had to go made him want to go even less. For weeks it was all the cadets could talk about. Their dates or their outfits or the dances and all the food that was going to be there for them to try. And that was the point of it essentially, to boost the morale of the soldiers who really didn’t have a lot to look forward to, especially those in the Scouting Legion. It was probably the biggest event of the year, and in his opinion a little bit too extravagant for the army, spending funds that Eren thought should have been put to better use. His moping had not gone unnoticed and a number of times now he’d been told to ‘suck it up’ and pretend like he was looking forward to the event. How could he though? Half the people attending wanted him dead during his trial and the other half didn’t want all that much to do with him. He had a few friends, sure, but none that he couldn’t talk to outside of the event. He couldn’t dance and there was no one there that would want to dance with him… well, except for maybe Mikasa, but she’d never let him lead. Most of his friends in the 104th couldn’t even look at him the same since he had transformed let alone hold a conversation with him. Eye contact was a big ask at this point. Then there would be drinking by the higher ups who would probably get annoying, and that ‘smoking’ thing that people like Lars did which was really, really gross and would stink up the entire room with their breath. Eren really, really didn’t want to go to this. It was formal, so the clothes were fancier than he’d ever seen. He even had a tie, which he, embarrassingly enough, was probably going to have to ask Armin to tie for him because there had never been an occasion for him to wear one before this night. Levi would probably know how to tie one, he was always wearing that fancy bib with the strange knots in it. He’d tried on the shoes he’d been given just an hour earlier and they were far too small for his feet. He could already feel the misery spreading from toes to tie and flopped back, shielding his eyes from the golden sun of a dying day with his arm. Dust floated up in soft plumes between thin strips of light that stabbed through the curtains in his room. His window was open and he could hear the wind muttering wordlessly against the glass which he was pretty sure he hadn’t cleaned in two weeks. He was going to have to do that tomorrow morning, though he was sure the event would go on late into the night. Maybe he could feign sickness. Would that really get him out of the event? He’s sure some of the higher ups would tell him to get some rest, he was very valuable after all. The last thing they needed was a sick titan shifter moping on the dance floor. Levi would see right through him, of course, he’d just have to talk to Erwin first. Though, that thought was not an appealing one. He rolled onto his side and grumbled to himself. “Such a waste…” Additional Information (OOC): Name/Nickname: Alix or Spades Time Zone: UTC+10:00 (Sydney Australia) Contact Info: Message me here for FB details otherwise on Deviant art I’m alice-of—spades.
