その日人類は思い出したXXXヤツらに支配されていた恐怖をXXX鳥籠の中に囚われていた屈辱を On that day, mankind received a grim reminder... Tino Väinämöinen Age: Twenty-One Gender: Male Ethnicity: Finnish Rank: Scouting Legion Cadet Birthday: December 6th Physical Appearance: Tino is a left handed smaller male, who looks as if he lacks the physical strength. But that quality of him is decieving. Tino's very strong despite his smaller form. He has pale short blonde hair, and violet eyes that usually beam with confidence and friendship. Beneath his clothes, Tino's body is slightly scarred from his battles, merely having a light scar along his left arm and hip. Alternately: When he's not out beyond the walls fighting, he would wear his signature white beret. Distinguishing Features: Yet another blonde, he's primarily recognized for his Beret and the lilac purple eyes of his. He's also one of the few remaining left handed people. He's short, so he's often mistakened to be younger than he truly is. Personality: Tino is a bright and happy seed among the rest of the scouting legion. A real motivational speaker. Always bearing a bright smile, even during battle, he tries his best to keep everyone upbeat and positive. He's a sweet and gentle male, but can easily switch into a mode that resembles a killer, almost. Where he would show no remorse for his actions or what he is about to do. This mode usually only occurs with the titans in life or death situations, otherwise Tino enjoys fighting them like it's just a simple game. Although when he does slip into that mode, his judgement becomes impaired (Hence why he has a lower intelligence in his status), and it results in injury on his behalf. He usually tries to explain that although he fears dying, he's willing to take blows while his friends and crew can escape the dangers. Tino is he tends to make inappropriate jokes in attempt to brighten up dark situations. Although he has a sort of battle-mode, Tino still gets easily frightened by the strangest of things. From being stared sternly at to seeing anyone die. He has a bad tendency to become attached to people, who later tend to die, and Tino wouldn't hesitate to mourn their deaths, even if it's in the middle of a battlefield. He would, in tune, get angry, and change into his battle-mode. It could easily be considered that by the shifts in his personalities in different situations, Tino could be quite unstable mentally. He's also known for being very nurturing. When he's not out beyond the walls Tino primarily spends his time with the young orphans when he's not with his crew. In a situation where the titans would attack and he's within the walls, he would save as many of the orphans as he could, strongly believing that the children would be their future. History: Tino Väinämöinen was born to a single mother who was stationed to guard Wall Maria. Tino's birth father remains unknown to this very day, and Tino never really knew if he died after a titan attack, or if he just abandoned his mother. His mother was only able to leave his side when Tino was old enough for his mother to return to her guarding duties. She worked with many others, even the parents of another Finnish child named Aino. Tino and Aino were close, and grew up together until the day the wall was kicked in. That started the beginning of Tino's nightmare and his last day as a happy, safe Finn. When the wall was kicked in, Tino ran out of the saftey of his home to find his mother. Aino hurried after him, only to see Tino about to be attacked by a titan. Tino and Aino's mothers swopped in to save them, Aino's mother hurrying to the kids as Tino's fought off the titan. They didn't go far, and Tino was caught staring upon a grotesque scene where Tino's mother's was seized by the titan who would lead her to her fate. Tino stood there in horror, frozen in fear even as other titans roamed up towards them. If it wasn't for Aino's mother, Tino would have just stood there and faced his death. Aino's mother picked the two children up and hurried off to the saftey of the boats, leaving Tino to peek around the other guard to see his mother bit in two by the titan, and her upper body smashing down into the rubble around them. Over the years together, Tino had been plagued by nightmares of many variations of his mother's death, and would seek out Aino, and later Berwald, for comfort. Aino wanted to go into training just like her parents had, and Tino reluctantly followed her in, having a fear of titans ever sinced he watched his mother die. He intended to head into the Military corps, and did managed to persuade Aino to come along with him. However, once the training ended, and the results came in, Aino didn't make the top ten, and Tino didn't want to leave her behind. During a night of celebration, Tino drank a bit too much and began to talk to Aino about what they were going to do. Since TIno feared the Stationary guards since that was where his mother died, Tino, in a drunken haze, agreed to join Aino in the survey corps. Although by the time they joined the survey corps, Tino and Aino eventually grew to be seperated, and Tino was on his own. Despite being alone and without the other, however, he managed to turn the fear of fighting titans into adrenaline, and found a sick thrill in fighting the titans. Too much of a sick thrill, and admittingly enjoys fighting the same things that tore his life apart. Such a sick thrill, he always takes the opportunity to slip into dangerous situations that may or may not risk his life. Within the survey corps, he has made many friends, and his optimism often helped pull him and his friends through dangerous situations. Although most his history is otherwise not known to others, since Tino is very seclusive and keeps that to himself. During his travels outside the wall, Tino would sometimes, once in a rare while, find himself injured when he runs into those dire situations, but nothing too serious that prevented him from returning with the survivors to the wall, giving everyone who watched them enter a mourning smile, and an apology saying that next time they will do things right. He never did enjoy watching his allies die, after all. He hated to see their loved ones cry, and hated more to be the one who had to witness them die. Every single time... Likes: --Peppermints and sweets Tino has a big sweet tooth, and has a tendency to reach for the closest sweet when it is available. While it's something Tino adores with his life, the sweets and the peppermints also tend to be used as a comfort food after harsh survey missions. --Children and Animals He's very maternal, and finds himself spending and enjoying time with orphaned children. He loves interacting with them and sharing stories from beyond the wall. As for the animals, Tino has a pet dog he greets all the time when he's back home named Kukkamuna (Hanatamago). Tino treats the animals almost like they're humans too. Almost... he has a tendency to spoil the animals (Or so he thinks. Sometimes they may just get annoyed with him). --Vodka Perhaps just slightly alcoholic when it comes to such a substance, Tino is always drawn to the option for this alcoholic beverage (especially if it's Russian). Although despite it being something Tino absolutely adores, he will only drink it when he's behind the wall, and when he is sure the area is clear of titan activity. --Slaying Titans (Perhaps even suicidal tasks) To Tino, it's a sport. A game. Having managed to turn fear into adrenaline, Tino volunteers for just about anything and any situation. He finds himself enjoying fighting the titans more and more. He use to fear fighting titans, but since it's now a sick sport for the Finn, he enjoys it. It's his life. Dislikes: --The Death of his friends/crew The thing the Finn hates doing more than anything is having to go up to others and share the news of death to the others. --Being called a wife, or mistaken for a woman It has only happened once, that someone has called him a wife. Its a "Cruel joke that shouldn't be repeated again...". The Finn also has been mistaken for a girl before due to his small stature, that any feminine traits towards him annoys him. --Self Injury Whenever the Finn becomes so injured that he can not fight he loses his smiles. He wants to make himself useful, so when he's injured, he feels useless and in the way. --Being asked about his past Due to the witnessing of his mother, a stationary guard, being eaten alive, Tino refuses to acknowledge any fact or fiction about his story. (See his history for further details). Strengths: --He finds a sick thrill in fighting Having such a sick thrill and enjoyment out of fighting titans, he's willing to hop up for any mission, no matter what. --Optimistic He is very positive about the outcome of things, even though he has seen his optimism die off through others before. --Strength Looks are decieving. Tino is very strong despite not looking the part. --Devotion He is very devoted to his job, that no matter what, he would fight to the death to make sure all his training as gone through nothing. Weaknesses: --Reminders of deaths Death is a sensitive subject for the Finn... It turns off his positve attitude. --Irresponsibility Tino is very irresonsible when he finds his sick thrills, that someday it would result in some damage onto Tino's person he would never be able to fix ever again... --Attachment He becomes attached to certain people, that when he see's them die, it's just a repeat of the trauma he had to face with his mother. This has failed to happen so far, that he was aware of... --Instability Since Tino is very mentally unstable, this blinds him from reason, and everything. His reactions towards this varies. He would fly into battle without logical thinking, and change the Finn into a whole new person. He won't care if he'll go up against 1000 titans alone. He will (But die trying) kill them all... at least, in his mind... Fears: --Dying Despite him acting all brave and stepping into the line of danger, when his adrenaline is gone, Tino begins to fear for his life... He fears dying, but the fear is just above the next thing he fears most... --Losing those who are most important to him It contradicts his other fear, so having to choose between is usually an issue, but if Tino had to, he'd choose his own death for the others, even if that, too, is a deep fear of Tino's... It's for his friends after all... It's worth the risk. Quirks: --When frightened or scared he would seek out Berwald for comfort. Despite the other being tall and intimidating, Tino see's the other as a valuable friend and partner. --His addictions to peppermints and Vodka leads him to having a large quantity of this in his room back inside the wall. Only once has it ever impared him from having to fight off titans, and he's learned--mostly--from that. Skillset: (On a Scale of 1 to 10: 10 being the highest) Physical Strength: 10/10 Intelligence: 4/10 Teamwork: 6/10 Confidence: 10/10 Agility: 7/10 Roleplay Sample: "The Titan's have broken through the wall!" It was a scene straight out of a horror movie as the young Finn peeked out his bedroom window at the grotesque scene growing outside the window. The smoke from the collapsing wall that had been kicked down by something large, and the titans raiding through the town. Tino, the name of the young finn, widened his eyes in horror as he hopped off hte bed and hurried his litte feet down the stairs and out the door. His mother was stationed at the gate, so the fact the wall had broken down horrified him. Where was she? Where was any of the stationary guards? Screaming filled the air, as well as the sounds of destruction as Tino heard something large coming up behind him, he slowly turned, staring up to see a large hand reaching out for him. He screamed, and turned to try to run away. Naturally, he wouldn't have made it anywhere, but he heard the familiar sounds of 3D maneuvering gear racing in to his aid, two stationary guards, one of which was his very mother, swooping in to fight off the titan. The mother, stationed to work with another girl who was injured, still came in to make sure her only child wouldn't end up hurt. His mother intended to stop the titan there, but more began to arrive, and while the wounded guard protected Tino, Tino's mother paid her price for her battles, and Tino just barely peeked over the guard's shoulder to see his mother being consumed by the cruel titan... Tino screamed, reaching out and calling for his mother in rapid finnish, not silencing even as the guard used her maneuvering gear to zoom through the city at a fast pace, taking the child towards the saftey of the boats at the end of the city. Tino buried his face inot the others shoulder, not wanting to see the titans. He just wanted the entire scene to just disappear, to rewind back to the happy times before the wall broke apart. "Voi hyvä jumala!" Tino's eyes snapped open, staring up at the darkened ceiling with wide eyes as he breathed heavily. The prior scenes were all but a dream. The horrible memories that leaked into his dream raced through his mind, causing the Finn to raise his hands to run through his hair, lightly tightening his hold on his bangs. It was his first day as a scouting legion cadet, and Tino knew he couldn't let them down, despite is growing fear to intereact with a Titan. He followed Aino into the group rather than the Military Police, and he knew he couldn't back down now, so Tino got up, and changed into his gear, before he made his way from his resting place and towards where the rest of the Scouting legion would meet. He smiled, and greeted a young woman, also of finnish origin, who had amber eyes and golden locks braided over her shoulder. She was a childhood friend named Aino, whom he had joined the training corps with, years after the attack on his part of the town. Upon reuniting with her, looking down as she passed the cloak over to Tino, both laughing softly as Aino offered to assist with the other's cloak, to help put it on. The finnish duo turned, listening to their leader as he gave them their orders. With that, the finn's made their way to the horses, and mounted them. There could be no regrets for Tino. This was his choice and he would survive, no matters what. Additional Information (OOC): Tino is almost positive he's Heterosexual. He may, however, just be in the closet...
